About

I am an Assistant Professor in the Intelligent Transportation Systems Section in the Division for Transportation Science at the Department of Technology, Management and Economics at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU).

I received a European Research Council Starting Grant for my project IMMERSION: Explaining human decision-making by combining choice and process data. The project runs from 10/2024 to 09/2029.

My research lies at the intersection of machine learning, simulation and behavioural modelling with a focus on the planning, management and improvement of intelligent, human-centric and sustainable mobility systems. Central to my work is the development and application of advanced mathematical models, algorithms, and data collection technologies—such as immersive virtual reality—to better understand and predict human behaviour and decision-making in the context of transport and mobility. My work places particular emphasis on emerging transportation technologies. My research has wide-ranging applications, including travel demand forecasting, multimodal transportation systems, mobility-on-demand, sustainability, and health and well-being.

I serve on the editorial board of Transportation Research Part A: Policy and Practice.

Before joining DTU, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Switzerland. I earned my PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from UNSW Australia.
